Recent History of SEFC Juniors

The junior section is part of Shipston Excelsior Football Club. The club was established in 1903 and has always been an active part of the local community.

The club traditionally plays in a black and white stripe kit.

In 2004 there were just three junior sides being run by enthusiastic parents in Shipston. However, such was the interest these three sides created amongst the youngsters of the town and surrounding villages that it became evident that the youth of Shipston wanted far more football!

The Juniors now have over 100 registered players and teams playing regular league football at U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U15 & U16. We also have regular Saturday coaching sessions for 7 year olds and under.

In 2007/08 a Colts team was established aimed at the 16 - 18 year olds providing them the opportunity to play regular league football and bridge the gap between junior & senior football. This introduction to senior football has proved to be very successful with some 16 year olds now quickly moving on to play for Shipston Excelsior 1st and 2nd senior teams.
